My sponsor said 'Do as I say Linden and you can work from home'... My first 'working from home' business was anything but, 'working from home'. I spent most of my time away from home, prospecting, conducting presentations, meetings and attending training. The company and products were amazing, but I was finding it increasingly difficult because of the amount of time I spent away from my family. Surprisingly, I do not believe this time was wasted, I did learn some important lessons along the way. Soaked up some amazing books, listened to life changing tapes and finally realised there was better ways to build my business. I finally stopped running around in circles chasing my tail. Although I do not believe this time was wasted, no one should go through that hard learning process. I guess if I had a better mentor in the early days I would have been fine, I look back in horror, what was I doing? I wasted so much time on people that were in no way interested in my opportunity or products, I believed in my company/products so much, every objection they put forward, I would try and answer and then convince them to buy or join. what was I doing? Somehow, I managed to sign a lot of people up.I would sign people up who didn't really want to sign up and then train them when they didn't want to be trained, then they would do nothing. Obviously soon after this they quit. Oh, happy days. I have learned so much over the years from lots of different mentors, I now only spend time with the right people. In MLM you are SORTING people, not CONVINCING them, your time is precious, don't waste it! My next sponsor said 'Do as I say Linden and you can work from home' I thought 'I have heard that before' But this time it was true! |
