An Essential Component To Any Business Plan

Whatever goal in life you are striving to reach, whether it is a certain level of financial success, success in a business opportunity that has come your way or some other achievement of importance to you, it is imperative that you create a plan to achieve those goals and then stick with your plan. You don't want to be like a duck waddling all over the road, remember, indecision and procrastination are twin brothers. Why? Because both habits will usually produce about the same results, slim to none. I say usually because there is always the 'chance' that things will turn out good or even fantastic for you in your endeavors no matter how helter-skelter a trail you are leaving behind you, but do you really want to leave your goals up to 'chance'?

As time goes on and you continue following your plan you may learn of things that you had not been aware of at the time you created your plan. You may feel that, had you been aware of these things you would have made them an essential component of your plan. Or you may begin to feel that your plan is simply no good and that you need to create a new one.

In either case the answer is the same one, STICK TO YOUR ORIGINAL PLAN! Be persistent! For how long? Until a REASONABLE amount of time has passed. How long is a reasonable amount of time? Even the courts can't decide that. You must decide how long a reasonable amount of time is. You must look at your individual situation and ask yourself, how long have I been putting my plan into action? Have I truly given my plan a long enough time to say it's not good? Have I been persistent with my plan, carrying it out exactly as planned? Is any new information I have learned of and feel is a great idea to achieve my goal so outstanding that I should completely change my plan?

Yes, it is possible your plan is not a good one. Yes, new information acquired as you carry out your plan can be very beneficial to achieving your goal. The key here is simply keeping in mind the old saying, 'A rolling stone gathers no moss!' Unless you can create plans for achieving your goals and then stick to them, you will never achieve any great success in life. And although chance is the exception to this rule I think it is safe to say that the reason you have taken the time to create a plan for achieving your goals is because you are serious about your goals and are not interested in leaving your success in life up to chance.

No matter how good a plan you have come up with for achieving your goals, without this essential component, it is worthless. Map out your course and then stay on track. Just like a race horse has blinders on so he is not distracted by the other horses in a race, so you should not allow yourself to become distracted by indecision and second guessing about the plan you have determined to be the best course of action for realizing your goals.
