Seeing Through Religious Cults

It is amazing how many people turn their life mission over to religious cults, nationalism or some cause, which is not even something they would normally ever consider. Why is it that some people just dont get it you ask?

You ask how come people do not get it? Well, perhaps it is the social and human conditioning of their peer groups, parenting and teachings, as humans seem to be able to believe just about anything. When you listen to folks comment on material human pursuits and the trivial nature of such, sure it seems to makes sense. Of course those who are recruiting followers use point this out and use this comment as a tactic to reel in their prey. Once they have their catch they convert the person into a different mission and cause of their choosing and not that of the individual who was merrily busy in pursuit of their own happiness prior to the encounter of the recruiter.

Next the recruiter will explain there reasoning and theory in more depth to get the individual to agree and establish a baseline of commonality to build on. This is fairly easy. For instance if the potential follower says; I do not believe in Voodoo Witch Doctor Gods, I am an atheist! The recruiter will say; You know, I was just like you one day until I found the Voodoo God and it changed my life! This is called witnessing. So, next time you see someone trying to build report with you in this way to sell you a product or service or sell you on an ideal, concept or religious theory you will see how they bend your innate characteristics and attempt to mirror you to the point of manipulating your mind. Some of these recruiters are very good at it and this is why so many people fall for their line of reasoning. Consider this in 2006.
