Do You Know Who You Are?

To succeed you must know yourself. Many fail because they dont take time to determine who they really are and what they want to accomplish. You cannot choose a career that fits who you are if you have not examined yourself. This article may be published if the resource box is left intact

You have probably struggled to remember the names of people you meet. It is important to remember the names of your acquaintances, particularly if they are your customers. It would be helpful if you could recall their occupation and something about their situation in life.

Have you ever considered who you are? Of course you know your name and where you live, but who are you really? What are you trying to accomplish in life? What turns you on? Does the position you have at work fit your personality? Are you headed in the direction of your dreams or away from them?

You need to examine your self, not how you are like others, but what is different about you? We spend years in elementary school, and many attend college or trade schools. We all have to come up with the same answer to each question on the test to be counted right.

When we leave school and enter the real world, the answer we are looking for may not be in any book. Some solutions only come with cut and try methods. When it comes to deciding which way to go for your future, your answer is different from everyone else. No one has the same combination of choices that you have.

When you apply for a job, they dont care how much you are like others, they want to know what is different about you. What talents do you have that others dont? Are you a self starter? Do you need supervision, or are you the leader type?

You need to examine your passions. What drives you, what makes you tick? You dont want just any job, you want the one that thrills your soul. Whether you are just starting out, or you have been in the work force for some time, you need a job that fits your talents and temperament. You need to find a position that takes advantage of your strengths and minimizes your weaknesses.

These things should be taken under consideration before you attend college so that you can take courses that lead to your dream. If you are already on the job, you may need to go back to school, or get special training to pursue your passion.

You might want to consider having an internet business. If that is the case, you need to learn html, so that you can program your website. There are sites on the web that teach this, or you can study it in school. Not everyone is cut out to run their own business. You need to determine if you are that type. Every position has different requirements so it would be a good idea to talk to someone familiar with whatever you are considering.

The point is, you need to evaluate your passions, strengths and weaknesses and come up with a plan to pursue your dreams. Before you can do that, you have to discover who you are, and what you want to do with your life.

Taking any job you can find will not lead to the kind of life you want. That is just waiting to see what happens to you. You need to determine what you want to happen, and make whatever preparations that are necessary to make it happen. It is best if the process is started while still in school, but specialized training is needed whatever the situation.

Life is a series of choices. You need to make a wise decision at every crossroad. Dont be discouraged if you make the wrong choice, however. Learn from your mistakes and dont make the same one twice. Remember that the choices you make determine your future. Many think they are not to making a choice, but in reality they have chosen to be losers. Winners make the right choices.
