Where's Your Value?

The simple action of writing the every day grocery demonstrates how we truly value our lives and inspire future success. Each week, many of us spend 10 to 30 minutes or more writing down the weekly future grocery purchases, clipping coupons and checking advertisements. We take this action because we believe that we will have future success through the savings of money, time and energy. Unfortunately, sometimes, we forget to bring the list and end up with additional purchases, spending more money than originally anticipated and probably having to return to buy the missed items. All of these actions have wasted money, time and energy and more importantly have contributed to increased stress levels as well as negative feelings about ourselves. Just think about the last time you forget your list and how did you feel about yourself? Were those thoughts fleeting or did they stay with you a while?

Mostly everyone agrees that a written grocery list has significant value. If you agree that a grocery list has significant value, do you have a written plan to inspire your success for the rest of your life? If you have answered no to this question and you believe in the simple weekly action of committing your grocery list to writing, then what you are really saying is that the time to write a grocery list has more value than the time necessary to plan for your successful future and more importantly that you are leaving future inspiration and success to chance and happenstance.

Part of the reason for this apparent disconnect is that individuals have been taught how to write a list and even to prioritize that same list, but very few have been taught or trained how to construct an Action Plan for future success. Since consistent goal setting and goal achievement is a skill, this skill is not taught and not developed because a presumption exists that individuals have learned this critical personal and professional skill. (I call this Learning Through Osmosis.) Individuals may hear about the need to set goals, but when the time comes to implement a goal achievement plan, their good intentions quickly crumble. Think about all the New Years Resolutions or all those Strategic Plans and how many were actually achieved?

Imagine the added benefits to your life if you could achieve your dreams, desires and goals. How would that make you feel? Would those achievements enhance your own feelings of self-worth and self-esteem? Where would you be right now? Would your life be more inspirational and have more value than that it does right now at this moment in time? What would that success now look like to you?

If you believe that your future life has definitely more value and can be more inspirational and successful than a weekly grocery list, then what actions are you going to choose within the next 24 hours to demonstrate the importance of that belief? Remember, the choice is now yours!

Good Day. Thanks for visiting. I hope that you have enjoyed my articles. In 1999, I founded ADVANCED SYSTEMS because I saw that performance could and should be doubled in warp time. Individuals, small and large businesses could not afford expensive solutions that may or may not deliver improved results in 12 months.

From my corporate, small business and education experiences, I recognized the individuals must have opportunities for connecting their passion to their purpose to secure the desired performance results, but many lacked the necessary skills, strategies and tools.

With over 20 years in sales management and 10 years in education, I understand how to unite productivity with profitability by developing a proactive working culture. My previous experiences resulted in cost savings through one of the first implementations of a computer software in a wholesaler distributor to the creation of a vendor performance assessment.

Since facilitating over 500 sessions, developing and editing over 25 training programs and writing numerous articles focusing on performance improvement, I bring a results focused approach to my clients. Also, I am proud to be one of the first five nationally certified facilitators of America’s Rising Stars (a Student Leadership developmental curriculum).

My passion is to help others connect their passion to their purpose to double performance. As The small business coach in Chicago, my clients have easily doubled their performance. Since our greatest resource is our young people, I am now working with large urban schools to generate the same results.
