Motivation: 5 Steps to Change Your Life

Do you know how to use your imagination to change your life?

Here are five steps to use your imagination to change your life.

Step 1 - Specifically define a problem that you are committed to solving. It's important to be as specific as you can be. The more specific you are at this step the easier it will be to get the changes you desire.

Step 2 - In your imagination, create three pictures of yourself in the following three situations:

How the problem got started. This does not have to be an exact date, just your emotional sense of how this problem began for you.

How it is now, including what is painful and uncomfortable.

How you would like it to be, in the near future, when this problem is solved and behind you.

Step 3 - Pretend we can set up a conference call between these three versions of you.

Step 4 - Create a conversation between you now and the you when the problem started. What have you learned since then? What do you wish you had known back then?

Step 5 - Create a conversation between you now and the you in the near future. What does the person in the future know that you do not know yet? How can you use that information now?
