Many modern and not so modern "gurus" of living in the NOW profess prescriptions to give up "mind oriented" realities for a more experiential "here and now" reality. The underlying philosophy which appears to have its origins in early eastern religions often prescribes various forms of daily meditative practices to help clear the mind. Many have flocked to such approaches as a way of relieving the stress of daily living, achieving inner peace, and attaining spiritual enlightenment and so on. Several aspects of such approaches that are overlooked are that they require endless hours of attentional effort, that the individual lapses back into mind oriented living if the practice is suspended for any length of time and finally that the practice must go on indefinitely if one is to sustain any gains they have made. Having said all of that I wish to express my view that such approaches are essentially inefficient for one simple reason. Let me explain. All of the "mind activity" that occurs in one's daily consciousness is the result of so called memories that have become stored in that person's mind/body, unconscious mind or "thought energy field". These memories unfortunately remain anchored there and exert a continuous pressure to surface into consciousness. When they do they are experienced as thoughts. Of course many of these memories are also associated with emotions and other sensations, not all of which are necessarily pleasant or desirable. You see this is because, whether you like it or not, you are absorbing into your thought field the sum total of everything that you experience each day. That includes what is happening in your own personal life as well as what is going on around you in the rest of the world. Most of this is very unpleasant as many are suffering, starving and dying! So all of this is getting "stored" inside of you and you can't really do anything about it, can you? Well I suppose you could pretend it isnt happening but that wont work either because it will get in through more subtle etheric channels. So when it gets stored there, i.e. inside you or in your energy field, it acts like a beach ball that you try to keep submerged in a swimming pool, it constantly tries to surface. Meditative practice, in my view, is akin to exercising the "muscles" of your will in an attempt to keep the memories submerged in your unconscious, so that they don't cause you stress or disrupt your ability to function peacefully day to day. The memories, like the beach ball however never really go away. If anything they only become larger, more menacing and require more and more effort on your part to keep them at bay. This is largely the reason that the level of stress that individuals experience these days has increased. So what is one to do about this situation? Well there is another way. One that can: 1. Permanently release the memories from the unconscious. 2. Eliminate the need for daily practice or effort. 3. Help you reclaim all of the energy that you have been using to keep all of this "stuff" unconscious. 4. Help you achieve a great sense of resilience that helps prevent further absorption of negative experiences within you. 5. Help you achieve greater inner peace and calm. 6. Help you achieve what you call enlightenment in ways you never thought possible. This approach is called the Mind Resonance Process(TM) (MRP) which I have written extensively about here.
