A Vacation In The Bahamas To Relax The Weary Mind

Life is busy and you work hard. Vacation should be more than just sleeping in and watching television or doing odd jobs around the house. Try something special this year; plan a vacation in the Bahamas.

Located about 1 hour east off the coast of Florida, the Bahamas is one of the most sought after vacation spots in the world. The city of Nassau is the capital of the Bahamas, which is located on the New Providence Island. Paradise Island is nearby to the North. These two islands are the more popular Bahamas Islands.

A warm Atlantic Ocean gulf stream helps to keep the average water temperature at 80 degrees. Clean white sandy beaches along with a variety of water sports help to attract many visitors year after year.

If your vacation in the Bahamas is to simply relax, then pick your favorite beach and do just that. Take along a favorite book and forget about the world around you.

If water sports are more to your relaxation then enjoy activities such as swimming, scuba diving, snorkeling and other water sports. Swimming with the dolphins is a favorite with many.

If you are planning a Bahamas family vacation then check out the Atlantis hotel in Bahamas on Paradise Island. It offers a resort including a large water park with slides, a lazy river ride and eleven pools including kid pools to break your mind from the normal routine.

If you are interested in underwater sea life, then make sure to check out the 'Dig'. It is a maze of underwater tunnels and chambers with large aquariums full of the underworld sea life.

The Versailles Gardens is another popular and free attraction on Paradise Island. The garden contains a collection of statues and art fragments dating from the 12th century along with unique flowers and settings which make it an ideal location for a wedding.

If casinos are your method of mind escape then you will not be disappointed with your vacation in the Bahamas. The Atlantis Casino is 50,000 square feet making it the largest casino in the Bahamas. 850 slot machines and 78 table games along with glass sculptures and design to bring the outside ocean view inside make this a world class casino.

If your method of mind escape is more traditional then perhaps fishing or golf in many locations across the island would be just the break your body needs from the daily grind.

Many tours of the Bahamas Islands can also be booked. A wide variety of options exist for accommodation including plush hotels to pamper your every need. Check with your local travel agent for the right Bahamas travel package and begin your perfect vacation in the Bahamas.
